Contraception can be a daunting topic for both patients and doctors. However, choosing effective contraception offers choice in determining family size and spacing. Worldwide effective contraception prevents an estimated 187 million unintended pregnancies and averts an estimated 2.7 million infant and 215 000 pregnancy-related deaths. Progestogen only pills (POPs) are one of the many choices available.
