Abstract
A single server queueing system with a finite capacity b is considered. The arrival is according to compound poisson process and the service times have general distribution depending on the number of units in the batch being served. The service commences only when the system is full. On completion of the service of a batch if the system size is less than b, the server goes for rest for random duration having general distribution. System size probabilities are computed at arbitrary time points. Computation of the virtual waiting at time t is illustrated.
