This article outlines a new direction for industrial therapy currently being explored in Cambridge, namely a re-examination of therapeutic community concepts and their application to the work situation within the context of workers' co-operatives. The author is Deputy Head Occupational Therapist at Fulbourn Hospital, lives in a housing co-operative, and has been involved in workers' co-operatives for the last 5 years.
