Data collected and coded from questionnaire style research tools usually contains transcription errors. A FORTRAN program which searches the data file for specific error codes is given. The two controlling features, number of variables with errors and the number of errors per variable, are set by a parameter statement. Since records are evaluated sequentially, memory requirements are minimal.
