Abstract
Data about Amsterdam are widely available. Two important sources are the municipal website of the Bureau for Research and Statistics{www.os.amsterdam.nl} and the Open Data platform which contained 326 datasets at the start of 2014 [1]. This paper examines which policy goals are met with the products based on open data provided by the City of Amsterdam. We also conduct a survey among the citizens of Amsterdam to see if they use the apps and internet sites. Finally, we compare the characteristics of the first products that use open data with the objectives of the open data movement in Amsterdam, i.e. economic growth, internal efficiency and external transparency.
