Book reviews appear in journals for language teachers, alongside research-based articles and state-of-the art reviews. Interestingly, however, although editorial guidelines are usually provided for writers of articles, suggestions to book reviewers on how to write are harder to find. Similarly, in advice about academic writing for publishing, the genre of book reviews has received very little attention.
This short article addresses a number of questions on the topic of writing book reviews.
