Physical connectivity is the fait accompli in the world today. Borders are increasingly becoming irrelevant and espousing integration. China has remarkably made progress in connecting with its neighbours and at present India is venturing into the connectivity drive. For both political and strategic opportunities, connectivity is attractive. More importantly, freedom to travel and communicate across borders opens up new vistas for trade, investment and flow of ideas. Presently, India signed FTA with ASEAN and increasing connectivity between them will felicitate it further. As a result, India through its Look East Policy is developing several connectivity initiatives. Open skies, seaways, roadways and railways are in progress. Several regional and sub-regional initiatives are also underway. Against this background, the article studies India's connectivity drive with Southeast Asia. It looks into the various projects initiated by India and Southeast Asian countries. The ASEAN-driven transport initiatives are also taken into perspective.
