Abstract
The main objective of this research is to study the ergonomic factors which can provide a better comfort to the CAD shoe modeling operator and, consequently, improve quality and productivity of the system as a whole. Firstly, the workstations were observed in order to obtain a ergonomic diagnosis of the tasks performed. This study began with the systemic approach in order to understand the ergonomic aspects of the human-task-machine system on the CAD sections on teaching institutes related to the leather and shoes industries in Vale dos Sinos, in Novo Hamburgo. Asystematic and systematic observations of the different tasks involved on the process followed. Half structured and structured interviews with CAD operators and their supervisors were also held. What we can conclude is that there is the necessity of an ergonomic intervention on these workstations due to manipulation, postural and environmental problems.
