Abstract

This essay reflects on Peter Fitzpatrick’s treatment of modern law as a problem of genre. It draws inspiration from his reading of Jacques Derrida’s “Law of Genre” to suggest the urgent need to unsettle the distinction between law and nature (nomos and physis).
