The problems of utilising research findings in practice and the need for evidence-based practice are being increasingly recognised. This paper shows how one NHS trust, in partnership with a university, has formulated and developed a strategy for developing research in nursing practice. The strategy aims to support nurses and midwives in understanding research and applying it, where appropriate, to their practice, and also to promote a culture of evidence-based care.
