The purpose of this communication is to report results obtained in a study whose scope was to determine key board properties based on cylindrical specimens. It was found that key board properties were not influenced by the specimen size. An equal cylindrical specimen 20 mm in diameter, is suggested for the internal bond strength, screw holding strength and thickness swell tests of commercial particleboard material studied. It is recommended for future testing standard development for internal bond strength, screw holding strength and thickness swell specimen size designation.
