Abstract
Development models of e-government for the municipalities have been implemented to simplify and improve coexistence between government and citizens. The aim of this paper is to present a preliminary comparison of maturity levels of local e-government between municipalities in some countries particularly in Latin America. The literature review is related with the identification of attributes or e-services offered to the citizen, based on a model to measure the progress of e-government initiatives in municipal environments. Successful models around the world show significant progress in terms of citizen satisfaction reduced bureaucratic attitudes in public institutions and a significant saving of resources. E-government is more than a single website; since, it has added new concepts such as transparency, accountability, citizen participation in the evaluation of government performance.
