This article presents a procedure for constructing cognitive maps. Cognitive mapping is an instrument which enables mental representations to be apprehended and analyzed. The potential contributions of this methodological tool in the field of marketing are highlighted. The article also discusses cognitive mapping and compares it to other techniques of mental representation.
